Congratulations to Franchise.com’s business developer, Matt Bogart oops excuse me, make that “Matthew H. Bogart, Certified Franchise Executive”, on receiving his CFE (Certified Franchise Executive) designation at the IFA annual convention last month.
He made history as he was part of a graduating class that broke the 1,000th person to receive his or her certification.
The Certified Franchise Executive program was first offered by the IFA in 1991 and is overseen by the ICFE (Institute of Certified Franchise ExecutivesTM) board.
Would you or anyone you know like to become certified? Well, if you are a franchisor, franchisee, supplier or educator actively engaged in franchising you can. You just need to complete the necessary requirements.
What do you have to do to become certified?
Apply – Complete an application that demonstrates your professional and educational background, achievements and franchise leadership experience. Pay – Overall, it’s estimated that getting your CFE costs $4,000-6,000 over a 2-year period. This includes a one-time enrollment fee and the courses. Don’t forget to take into consideration any travel costs you might have, those are additional.

After receiving his designation, Bogart said “I am proud and honored to have been awarded my CFE. It demonstrates and represents my commitment to franchising and provides me with great educational opportunities as well as access to a very impressive network of like-minded, committed industry professionals.” He is the second person at Franchise.com to receive this certification, behind Sharon Dietrich, Franchise.com Director of Sales.
