Some people may be having an extra cup of coffee today due to the Red Sox World Series win last night. Regardless, Franchise.com employees are still buzzing. Maybe from the caffeine and Halloween candy, but also because of our home team win! Not to mention a fellow New Hampshire native and Red Sox executive, Ben Cherington.
“I feel good because of Ben Cherington,” says Franchise.com’s Tom Braley. Tom is mostly excited because Cherington is likely to win MLB’s executive of the year. “Ben, a New Hampshire native, used to play baseball with my son and I used to tie his hockey skates. It’s nice to see someone who literally worked his way from the ground up with the Red Sox,” explains Tom.
Tom spoke about how Ben began his Red Sox career. “I remember he wrote Dan Duquette, who used to be the GM and was a fellow Amherst College alum, asking if there was an internship available with the team. He started clocking pitches behind home plate with a radar gun.”
Franchise.com rooted for Red Sox nation and is still flying high on the adrenaline, and caffeine.
